When the Remembering Fades: Choosing Life Again

Oct 22, 2025

U'vacharta Ba'Chayim - When the Remembering Fades

There are days you might forget, not in a dramatic way, just slowly. You get caught in the scroll, the noise, the proving. You get hit with a trigger, your own or someone else's addiction to drama, to suffering, to victimization, to making you "wrong or bad", to a volatile mood. You have a moment when you don't choose life consciously

And the light that once felt effortless begins to feel far away.

That's okay. Even the sun disappears for half the day. The moon waxes and wanes. Its absence is not proof of its death.

Forgetting is not failure - it's a pause. It's life giving you another chance to choose again, this time more consciously.

When the remembering fades, don't reach for meaning. I repeat, don't reach for meaning. Reach for presence. Feel the air move through you. Touch the pulse that never left. That's God, waiting without judgment, still choosing you. Will you choose? What are you going to create with this moment and the next? Who are you? Bring yourself back here, Now.

You don't have to climb back to where you were. You just have to turn inward, to the place beneath striving - where knowing doesn't depend on feeling.

This is where faith lives. Not as belief, but as remembering. Over and over and over again

The work doesn't ever stop working... only sometimes, you do. That's okay, you are human. But please, remember who you are like your life depends on it

Because your life does depend on it.

And whisper, (or shout, if you know me, you know I'm here for the range;)

Even now, I choose life. Especially Now, I choose life.

Not because it's easy. Because it's true. Because the choosing itself becomes the bridge back to light.

BECAUSE I AM LIFE, AND I CHOOSE MYSELF.

And slowly, quietly, it returns - the warmth, the clarity, the pulse of something ancient and alive. It always does. Not as a rush, but as a recognition: you never actually lost it. You just closed your eyes for a moment.

So the next time you forget, don't panic. Bow. Smile at your own humanity. And remember -

Even in forgetting, you are still being remembered By God. By life. By the part of you that never left the light. By the part of you that IS.
