True Humility: Entering a Room Like God Sent You. Because He Did.
Feb 20, 2026PSA: Being obsessed with not being obsessed with yourself is its own kind of secret self obsession. And it is false humility. True humility is entering a room like God sent you. Because He did.
True humility is rooted in knowing exactly who you are, the power you carry, AND where that power comes from.
This is what Rav Kook said on false humility: "A person must recognize his inner talent, and know within himself if he was created for greatness. He should not be frightened by the sin of pride in acknowledging the measure of his intellect and the worth of his desire. On the contrary — from false humility, which crushes the soul and blurs the divine light within, he must beware even more."
False humility, when we make ourselves small, we are being the most arrogant we can be. We are not recognizing the most fundamental truth: we are made from Godliness, and the soul inside of us is a piece of God itself. I am that I am that I am that I am.
At our core, our state of being is Godliness. Making ourselves small is not recognizing that most fundamental truth. Simply put, true humility is recognizing the Godliness within us. False humility is not recognizing that which we are.
So the next time someone reflects your essence to you, receive it. It's the truth of your being. The more you receive it, the more you believe it, the more you believe it, the more you act like it... and we sure do need more people embodying Godliness in this world!
And be obsessed with yourself and others. Love yourself and others. Not yours or their avatar — but the souls having this human experience! Being obsessed with staying small or quiet or good or liked or understood by everyone is really staying obsessed with your personality, your coping patterns, your avatar instead of your truest you, your essence.
Shine the brightest you possibly can. Share your soul's song and art unapologetically. Be coherence embodied. Be permission embodied. Simply BE. Take up space in this world. Shine. Be radiant. Stand tall. You are so beautiful.
Your assignment is yours alone. A special light that you get to shine in the unique perspective only you have. False humility doesn't serve anyone besides for the idol of being understood and liked by all. There is nothing more self obsessed than staying small. It seems to be so humble from the outside, but inside it is a contraction of the soul that only. Ever. Wants. To. Expand.
All the soul wants to do is shine. Not think about what others think. Not worry about scenarios of what will happen if it does. Shine. Shine. Shine. Shine. That's the soul's only job. It's its sacred assignment. And there is nothing more freeing than stopping to worship the idol of smallness.
It's not about you. Paradoxically, when you make it about yourself (your soul) and you allow yourself to create, express, and shine freely, it becomes so much less about yourself (your insecurities — how you think and feel and how you think and feel others think and feel about your shining).
This post is out of my "comfort zone." But my soul is Here. Hineni 🤍👑
