The Power and Gift of Celebrating Others

Oct 16, 2026

The Kabbalah of when giving is receiving the person you always were

In the Zohar, it says, “If he blesses him, then he himself is blessed from above...”

The ability to genuinely rejoice and add even more blessing in someone else’s abundance is an expression of our own relationship with abundance, our own capacity to be a vessel for the Ein Sof - the infinite light of Hashem.

When someone receives an extraordinary opportunity, builds a thriving business, falls in love, creates something beautiful, becomes wildly successful, or experiences a blessing you’ve been longing for, what happens inside you?

Can you let their joy touch you? (Even while honoring the full spectrum of your human experience and allowing yourself to feel and embrace ALL your emotions?)

Can you be genuinely delighted by what is unfolding in their life, even while you’re still waiting for something in yours?

In Kabbalah and Chassidic teachings, we learn that the flow of blessing, Shefa, is not a finite resource being divided among competing people. The abundance flowing through one person’s life does not diminish the Source available to another. The Source is available to all.

And yet, if we do not choose to be a steward of celebration, we can live as though it does.

We can unconsciously experience someone else’s success as evidence of our own lack. We can make their receiving mean something about our worth, our timing, our potential, or our place in the world.

What if someone else’s expansion could actually expand our own sense of possibility?

Chassidus teaches us about ayin tovah, a good eye. A way of seeing that recognizes the goodness in another person, or the flow or light another person has, and rejoices in it. Not as an intellectual exercise, but as an expression of a more expansive consciousness. An embodied, alive, presence practice.

When you celebrate someone else’s abundance, you are doing something for yourself, too.

You are practicing the experience of goodness without needing to possess it, which is TRUE wealth.

You are allowing your heart to remain open in the presence of something you desire. You are loosening the grip of comparison and strengthening your capacity to experience life as generous rather than competitive.

You are teaching yourself that someone else’s brilliance is safe. That another person’s visibility doesn’t threaten your own. That you can witness someone receiving what you want and remain deeply connected to your own desire, your own direction, and your own possibility. You are remembering that we are all connected and someone else’s Simcha (Joy) is also your own.

This is not about suppressing envy or pretending that everything feels wonderful all the time. Sometimes another person’s success reveals a desire or feeling we’ve been afraid to acknowledge. Sometimes it brings us face to face with the places where we’ve been holding back.

That’s valuable information.

We can let that awareness bring us closer to our own desire instead of using it to diminish someone else’s joy. We can practice RANGE, holding both, coming as we are, feeling our human experience fully to the bottom of the feeling AND living from our soul.

And there is something else so precious here:

Celebration is a form of giving.

When you genuinely celebrate another human being, you offer them something priceless: the experience of being witnessed in receiving.

YOU become a channel through which their joy is amplified. You strengthen their willingness to receive, to create, to express, to take up space, and to continue becoming.

And in the very act of giving that experience, you participate in it yourself.

This is one of the beautiful aspects of living a truly abundant life: giving doesn’t ever take something away from the giver. In fact, the act of giving develops the very capacity that makes greater receiving possible for THEM.

The more spacious your heart becomes, the more life you can hold.

The more you can delight in goodness wherever it appears, the less your happiness depends on being the only one experiencing it.

And the more you recognize the Divine expression in another person’s greatness, flow, blessing, and capacity to receive, the more intimately you can relate to that same infinite possibility within you.

May we become people who are not only available to receive great blessings, but who can genuinely rejoice when those blessings find their way to someone else.

Because the ability to celebrate another person’s abundance is itself a form of wealth

When you celebrate another person’s success, you are doing something for yourself.

You are loosening the grip of comparison. You are expanding your capacity to experience joy. You are teaching your system that another person’s greatness is safe to be around. You are allowing yourself to live in a world where goodness is happening everywhere, rather than constantly measuring whether enough of it is happening to you.

And perhaps most importantly, you are practicing the very consciousness you need to hold your own expansion.

Because what good is more money if someone else’s wealth makes you feel threatened? What good is greater visibility if another person’s spotlight feels like a threat to your own? What good is leadership if you can only feel powerful when you’re the most powerful person in the room? What good is the greatest love story if you can’t delight in someone else having that?

May we become people who are so deeply connected to the Source of our own abundance that we can delight in the abundance of others.

Because it is in giving that we truly receive.

And it is only when we are plugged into the true Source - that we are truly resourced, no matter how much we have or acquire.

True RE-SOURCE is

RETURNING to the SOURCE

We forget,

We Remember

And then we Expand.

Wealth is available

Now, Here, Today.

For me, for You, for All of us.

How wealthy are you?
