On False Humility (part 2)
Nov 03, 2025True humility is not avoiding your power or light. It’s unapologetically standing in it, while remaining plugged in and very aware of where this power comes from.
“A person must recognize his inner talent, and know within himself if he was created for greatness. He should not be frightened by the sin of pride in acknowledging the measure of his intellect and the worth of his desire. On the contrary - from false humility, which crushes the soul and blurs the divine light within, he must beware even more"
-Rav Kook
I tell this to my clients (I am my client too) all the time:
At our core, our state of being is Godliness. Making ourselves small, shrinking, or not shining the light inside of us is not recognizing that most important truth.
Simply put, true humility is recognizing the Godliness within us.
False humility is not recognizing that.
When we make ourselves small, we are being the most arrogant we can be.
We are not recognizing the most fundamental truth: we are made in the image of God, and the soul inside of us is a piece of God itself.
So the next time someone reflects your essence to you, receive it. It's the truth of your Being. The more you receive it, the more you believe it, the more you believe it, the more you act like it...
And we sure do need more people embodying the light of the infinite in this world!
One of my clients and dear friends defined true humility in a message to me a while back:
True humility is rooted in knowing exactly who you are, the power you carry, and where that power comes from
Amen!
