Hospitality Is a Frequency Before It Is an Action
Jun 29, 2026I've had the opportunity to discuss the topic of hospitality with some of my team members in our meetings recently. As we create and roll out our new offerings, this topic is at the top of our minds and hearts.
What does hospitality mean to you?
Here are some notes so you can join the conversation:
True hospitality is a frequency before an action.
It is not perfection or a performance. It is not (only) about how beautiful your table is, how many dishes you prepared, or whether everything went according to plan (but it can be)
True hospitality is a generosity of spirit.
There are so many kinds of hospitality - guests, clients, employees, loved ones, children, romantic relationships, our homes, and even how hospitable we are to our own bodies and souls.
The deepest hospitality has very little to do with a house.
You can be invited into a magnificent home and never experience presence. Others sit with you on a worn couch, offer you a cup of tea, and somehow your soul exhales.
Because hospitality is a frequency before it is an action.
Hospitality is the embodiment of receiving. To truly host another, you must first be willing to receive them. Not the version you wish they were or the version that is easiest to love. But the actual person standing before you.
And perhaps this is why hospitality is so holy.
Because every act of genuine hospitality mirrors the Divine, mirrors Hashem. The Creator does not wait for us to become perfect before welcoming us home into a divine embrace. The gates are open now. The invitation is now. The love is now. NOW.
And every time we create a space where we or other human beings can choose to soften, breathe, laugh, cry, pray, rest, or simply be...
Whenever we allow all of our Selves somewhere, when we remember that we inherently matter and belong even if we don't feel invited or belonging - we allow the space around us to exhale a little more.
We become a living sanctuary.
A place where souls remember themselves.
A place where the nervous system settles.
A place where abundance flows.
A place where love says:
"You do not need to earn your seat at this table. You already belong."
