Translates as: Blessed are You, Hashem, our God, King of the Universe,
Who has given us life, sustained us, and brought us to this moment.”

Our Jewish Brothers and Sisters are Home 馃ス

The Shehecheyanu prayer is one we say so often in our Jewish Tradition. And today, I found myself saying them dozens of times, with tears in my eyes.
Shehechiyanu.
Not just thank You for what I have, for what we have,
but thank You that we exist in this moment
in this exact unfolding of time.

Shahechaeyanu moves me so much because it is the prayer of arrival.
Not for a destination, but for Now.
For the miracle of having made it through every unseen night,
every unspoken ache,
every quiet or loud miracle that led to this moment.
Every tragic moment. Every triumphant quiet prayer of a human who just KNEW his/her prayer landed and created ripples in this universe.

We don’t say Shehechiyanu when life is perfect.
We say it about life when we become present with it
When we feel the pulse of being alive inside the imperfection.
When we can look at what is: messy, luminous, unfinished - struck with the beauty and the sorrow that exists in every breath
and still whisper, Hashem, and the piece of God in me -thank You for bringing me Here.

Because this is the gift:
To be here for this moment of the story -
the tears, the light, the wind returning, the hearts opening.
To breathe and know: I was meant to see this. I was meant to be here now, witnessing history unfold, to be a part of the story. Of the healing. Of the greiving AND of the rejoicing.

So say it slowly today, if you choose.
I know I will keep saying it.
Letting it land
Baruch Atah Hashem… Who gave me life, Who kept me, Who brought me to now. To the God who was, is, and always will be. The orchestrator of miracles, who ultimately brought them home

This now -
This moment in time
Unprecedented
exactly as it is -
is holy.

Love,
Rivky
